Paul Sims, of www.NewHumanist.org attended an Anonymous hate rally in London this past July, asking the question: "Can a masked protest movement that started out playing internet pranks really be taken seriously?"
He describes the early part of the hate demonstration, where he unwittingly discovered Anonymous' unofficial mascot PEDOBEAR:
"...found a group of around 30 people in various forms of fancy dress, among whom the average age must have been around 17. One of the first protesters I approached, a young man dressed in a pantomime bear outfit, had a straightforward answer for why he was there."
The bear costume is none other than PEDOBEAR, a PEDOCULTURAL ICON which makes light of child molestation (the bear suit is supposed to make a heinous act of criminal sexual penetration into a "joke"). As the boy dressed as a PEDOPHILE EXPLAINED:
"It’s just a really good way to spend a weekend. To be honest with you, it’s just a really good laugh."
A 17 year old boy dressed up as a PEDOCULTURAL ICON is a "good laugh" ?
I disagree. In fact, I find PEDOBEAR and SIMULATED CHILD PORN to be disgusting. Any expert on child predators will tell you that anyone claiming this is "satire" is giving you a weak rationalization. The manner in which they defend their sick materials suggests as much. It makes sense; nobody wants to admit to being totally sick and depraved.
For those new to Anonymous, they celebrate internet child porn as another form of "Free Speech." They call it "satire"--or they claim to be fighting against pedophilia facilitated by the internet by making it seem less offensive--get this-- by "joking" about it (they do the same thing with racism, anti-Semiticism, and violence).

Sadly, Anonymous will continue to adopt anything that is sufficiently shocking or reprehensible enough to get more attention so we don't expect them to just abandon these disgusting influences. And when you talk to them, you'll find that they intend to normalize this filth. Those of use who are offended are, in their view, the one's with the problem.

You threaten to unmask Anons unless your demands are met. That is called terrorist action. You post the same pics of simulated child molestation that you accuse Anonymous for posting. You cut out important details of quotes to better suit your claims, yet when people read the FULL quote or article they see what you don't see or don't want to see. Then you get angry everytime Anonymous or anonymous persons call you on it. You attack individuals with half truths or straight out lies. You make assumtions of someone just because they don't agree with you or your world view. Then you post up comments anonymously that makes you appear to be the victim when in reality you are the one who victimizes.

That's funny, when I did a report on racism a few years ago I wrote a bit on the KKK, and I think you'll find they don't wear masks. Look into it, some may still where those pointy hats put they don't cover their faces.
The reason why we remain anonymous is because if you appeared as a protestor in front of the church of scientology and you lived in the local area, they would hunt you down and threaten you! In the late 1970's, they broke into an FBI building and tried to look for PERSONAL RECORDS of people they -found threatening- to their cause.
Anonyminity is how we came to be in the first place, meaning without our masks, this blog would have never cam to be, and you'd be wasting your time on Scientology instead of us anyway...

I was at the protest with Paul, documenting the day for New Humanist, and have to concur with him. The guy in the bear costume was giving out free hugs. Nothing untoward going on. From what I saw of them, Anonymous are a good humoured group of young people targetting what they see as a dangerous cult. They don't do any harm.
